Terms of Service

Welcome to RentMe! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our platform that connects motorcycle owners (“Owners”) with riders (“Renters”). By accessing or using RentMe, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using RentMe, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. Where permitted by law, we may update these Terms at any time by posting a revised version with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use means you accept the changes.

2. Description of Service

RentMe is a marketplace that facilitates listings, bookings, and payments for motorcycle rentals. RentMe is not an insurer, broker, or rental agency and does not own or control the motorcycles listed by Owners. Unless expressly stated, RentMe does not provide insurance, roadside assistance, or mechanical services.

3. Eligibility & Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the Services.
  • You must provide accurate information and maintain the security of your account credentials. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

4. Licensing & Local Laws

Renters must hold a valid motorcycle licence appropriate for the vehicle class in the jurisdiction of rental (e.g., Indonesia SIM C) and, if applicable, an International Driving Permit. Renters must obey all traffic and helmet laws and are responsible for any fines, penalties, or citations incurred during the rental.

5. Listings & Vehicle Condition

  • Owners must provide accurate, complete listing details.
  • Owners remain responsible for legal compliance (registration, roadworthiness).

6. Bookings, Pricing & Payments

  • By booking, the Renter agrees to pay the rental price, applicable taxes, fees (including service fees), and any security deposit.
  • Security deposits (if applicable) may be authorized or captured and are refundable less any permitted deductions (e.g., damage, fuel, late return, cleaning).

7. Cancellations & Refunds

Each listing specifies a cancellation policy. In addition, RentMe’s platform fees are generally non-refundable unless required by law.

  • Renter cancellation: Refunds follow the listing’s policy and any stated cut-off times.
  • Owner cancellation: If an Owner cancels, Renters will receive a full refund of service charges.
  • No-show / Early return: No refund unless the listing policy states otherwise.

8. Use of the Motorcycle

  • No racing, stunts, unsafe driving, or impaired driving.
  • No off-road use unless the listing explicitly permits it.
  • Only approved drivers (as per booking) may operate the motorcycle.
  • Keep the motorcycle locked when unattended and comply with fuel, mileage, and maintenance instructions in the listing.

9. Accidents, Damage & Theft

  • In any incident, notify local authorities as required and obtain a police report where practicable. Notify the Owner promptly.
  • Renters are responsible for damage, loss, or theft occurring during the rental, except for normal wear and tear or where otherwise required by law or covered by applicable insurance.

10. User Content & Reviews

You grant RentMe a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute content you submit (e.g., photos, reviews) for operating and promoting the Services. Do not post unlawful, defamatory, or infringing content. We may moderate or remove content at our discretion.

11. Prohibited Activities

You may not violate laws, infringe rights, circumvent fees, scrape, reverse engineer, or misuse the Services. We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations.

12. Disclaimers; Limitation of Liability

The Services are provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, RentMe disclaims all warranties and will not be liable for indirect or consequential damages. Our aggregate liability is limited to the greater of (a) fees you paid to RentMe in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or (b) USD 100.

13. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless RentMe from any claims or demands arising out of your use of the Services, your content, or your breach of these Terms, except to the extent a claim is caused by RentMe’s willful misconduct or gross negligence.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your choices. Where applicable, we comply with local data protection laws.

1. Data We Collect

  • Account & Identity: name, email, phone.
  • Booking & Payment: rental history, preferences, amounts, payment method tokens (processed by our payment processor. RentMe does not store full card numbers).
  • Device & Usage: IP address, logs, app/browser info, cookies. With consent or where lawful, approximate location.
  • Communications: messages with Owners/Renters and support, including via WhatsApp or email if you opt in.
  • Vehicle Data: If Owners use telematics/GPS, certain trip or location data may be collected by the Owner’s device. See the listing and Owner’s disclosures.

2. How We Use Data

  • Provide, secure, and improve the Services and user safety.
  • Process bookings, payments, deposits, and claims.
  • Verify identity and eligibility to ride/host.
  • Send transactional and, if you opt in, marketing messages.
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud or misuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

3. Sharing

  • With Owners/Renters to fulfill a booking (e.g., name, phone).
  • With service providers (payments, ID verification, cloud hosting, analytics) under contractual confidentiality.
  • With authorities or third parties when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and property.

4. International Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards.

5. Retention

We keep personal data for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal/financial obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Backups and logs may persist for a limited period after account deletion.

6. Your Choices & Rights

  • Access, correct, or delete certain data in your account.
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time.
  • Depending on your location, you may have additional rights (data portability, objection, restriction). Contact us to exercise these.

7. Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your RentMe account at any time. To do this, open the RentMe app or website, tap the ☰ (hamburger) menu in the top corner, select Account, and then choose Delete Account. Once confirmed, your account and all personal data will be permanently removed from our active systems in accordance with our data retention policy.

Certain information required by law (such as payment records, invoices, or anti-fraud logs) may be retained for a limited period as described in our Privacy Policy. After that period, the remaining data will be securely deleted from our backups.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data. No system is 100% secure.

9. Cookies & Similar Tech

We use cookies and similar technologies for core functionality, analytics, and (if you consent) marketing. You can manage cookies via your browser and, where offered, our cookie preference tools.

10. Children

The Services are not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes

We may update this Policy. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice where required.
